Foundation Virginity and The Beauty Blender

First of all I would like to say, be prepared, you (and I mean you) may be shocked by some of the content in this blog post.

So yesterday I was on my way to the bakery to get an Eccles cake when I suddenly stopped, yes, my feet stopped walking. I looked at the shop I was standing outside and it was Superdrug. Now out of all the shops I go to, Superdrug gets me every time. It's the type of shop that you can buy so much in, everything is relatively inexpensive and everything either smells good on your face, or looks good on ya face. I seem to always find myself standing at the till with my Superdrug beauty card in hand, hoping that I have enough points to pay off the £30 price tag that stares me in the face. I think we've all established that I never learn.

So as I walked in the first thing that popped into my mind was 'Foundation'. Now this is where the shocking part comes in - In all my 17 years of life, I have never owned, and never worn.. Foundation. There I said it. I am completely and utterly new to the foundation hype, a foundation virgin you could say.
Now I know what you're thinking, 'why after all these years would you consider buying foundation Florence?' I asked myself that question, I think it's just because I feel like I've almost, missed out on a part of life. For example : Before last year I had never read a Harry Potter book, not one. And to me that was very sad. I felt like I had missed out on a part of my childhood, so I decided to pick one up and read it, and I loved it, I'm now on the second one (I'm a very slow reader) and I feel a whole lot better about Harry Potter now.

So, where was I? Oh yes! I was comparing Harry Potter to buying Foundation for the first time. I just felt it was necessary. So I went straight to the Rimmel section and picked up the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. Now I've heard rave reviews on this from both bloggers to Youtubererers.. And I liked the packaging and it smelt delish and it was in the sale so I just thought, why not?! So I picked it up. And as I walked to the till I looks at the section that's for kind of, fake things of the real things, so stuff like crappy brushes and fake fake eyelashes etc. anyway suddenly I saw a Cosmopolitan section, and I found the beauty blender, picked it up, and had a look. £4 ish for this?! I thought, it's a sponge? Anyway, it promised a lot, like an airbrush finish an no streaks. So I bought it. And what a good buy it was.

I tried it for the first time yesterday, with my new foundation and my Collection 2000 Lasting Concealer, and I loved it. Perfect coverage with no streaks at all. The foundation was the perfect colour and seemed to leave me with a glowing finish. The concealer (which I used to apply with my fingers) suddenly did its job! All my blemishes and dark circles disappeared, and it just shows that with the right tools, the make up you have will actually work. I've spent years throwing away old tubes of concealer that I thought just never worked, and when I got the Collection 2000 one, I was even a little disappointed in that! But with the Beauty Blender it's just fab.

So the lesson is, always go into Superdrug and BUY STUFF! Seriously, these products are tried and tested and WORK!

Primark Haul

Hello everybody! So today I haven't been able to make it into Brit so I thought I would do a little Primark haul for you. These are all items that I bought yesterday so this is the up to date stock of Primark at the momento.
So lets start, Yaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr -

Item Numero Uno

A Onesieeeeeeeee

Yes, my first item is a onesie, and I know what you're all thinking, what a loser, but i'm telling you, when it's snowing this thing is a lifesaver. In fact i'm wearing it right now and I cannot feel an ounce of cold. You can get it in different animals, I got a leopard.
I got it in a size 6/8 and it was £12

Item Number Two

A Towel Headband Thingy

My next buy is this Hairband. Now i've been wanted a very similar one from Body Shop for donkeys years, but as I stood in the never ending Primark queue I found this! I really wanted it for when I put my face cream and makeup on, and because I have a fringe it can get that out of the way as I apply my products. I    got it in pink so that the makeup wouldn't show up on it as much as white.
This was £1.50 - BARGAIN!

Item Number Tres

Hangers..

Yes I know what you're all thinking, very strange buy, BUT in my cupboard my clothes are hanging on size 2-3 bhs hangers and there are about ten dresses on one hanger and I HATE IT! (hANGER - see what I did there? anger and hanger - hanger anger!) So I decided to get these non slip hangers.
These are black and were £4

Item Numberoni Four

Zee Super Cosy Tights Yar

Yes I jumped on that bandwaggon and bought these super soft, super cheap and super cosy tights! They have the lining on the outside of normal tights but on the inside it's a whole different story. They have the lining of a hollister hoody, soft, warm and purrrfect for winter.
I got these in a size Small/Medium - Black and the price was £3.50

Item Number Five

Polka dot top

I really like this shirt. It's navy with white polka dots and gold buttons. On the cuff there is a gold button too which adds really nice detail. It's a sheer material and is really light so easy to wear. As you can tell I LAV IT.
Got it in Navy, a size 8 and it was £10

Item Number Six

Black Shirt

First of all apologies for this bloody awful picture! Anyway, I got this shirt for putting under jumpers and things. It's a kind of sheer material but I think I could get away with wearing it without anything underneath it. It has a pocket and plain black buttons down the front and on the cuff. Simple yet useful.
Black - Size 8 - £9

Item Number Seveno

Black Vesty Top

Simple yet useful is my motto today! I love these vest tops, they can go under anything and are really good in summer too. They're very figure hugging and flattering. Put one of these on and you're good to go. And to add to it, these vest tops are cheap as chips. And there are a variety of colours to choose from.
I got it in Black, Size 8 and it was £2

Item Number Eight

Chunky Jumper

Now as I added all the shirts to my overflowing Primark bag I noticed that I really needed a jumper to go with them. And then I found this! Warm, knitted with a zip at the back, perfect for winter. I got it in a bigger size than I normally get so that it was oversized on me. There are slits on the sides on the bottom and it has a high low design on the bottom too.
I got it in a size 12, in the colour Stone for £8

Item Number Nine

Pleated Skirt

This is one of my favourite colours of this season - burgundy. I have a barry m burgundy nail varnish which I wear pretty much everyday. So when I found this skirt I fell in love. It comes with a light brown belt. The material of the skirt is almost like a azteccy feel, if that makes any sense! Such a good buy, for winter and summer. Perfect with tights or without!
Size 8 - Colour is Wine - £8

Item Number Dix

Aztec Top

This is one of my favourite and cheapest buys. It's a black, slightly lacy top/jumper. It has three quarter length sleeves and has a aztec design on it. It is very see through so I will need to wear a vest top or a bandeau under it. I love this item, I think it can go with so much and it is so versatile. This item was in the sale.
Black, Size 8 and £5 reduced to £2! BARGAIN BUCKETTTTTT!!!!

Item Number Eleveno

Aztec Necklace (hello fringe)

Now we're on to jewellery, I really like this item. It's a aztec design, silver metal with a link chain. There are three pieces connecting so it's not stiff. I think this can go with anything and would look great in summer. It feels pretty cheap but looks good so let's just hope it doesn't break!
Turqoise, £3

Item Numero Twelve

Navy Block Necklace

Sorry for another awful picture. I wasn't sure about this necklace at first because I wasn't sure when I would wear it, but then I turned the price tag around and found it was reduced! So I bought it straight away and now I really like it, I think it can go with so much and would look great with bikinis in summer when I am on hols.
Navy with Yellow gold, £4 reduced to £2

Item Number Thirteen

Gold Ring (ugly face)

I got this ring just because I don't have any rings like this. This one fills up nearly my whole finger and has a slight aztec design on it with a black circle in the middle. I really like it, I love wearing gold and it goes with anything. Great ring.
Got it in Small, Yellow Gold £2.50

Item Number Fourteen

Gold Ring

I got this ring, again, because I don't have any rings like this. I love big statement rings and this one took me' fancy. It's really simple yet.... USEFULLLLL! And I really like it. Definitely going to get more jewellery from Primark.
Yellow Gold, Size Medium £2.50

Final Item! (Noooooooo)

Eagle Necklace

Now this was my biggest bargain of all. I walked past this and thought about getting it but wasn't sure if I liked it that much. Then when I came back to look at it again I thought, why not buy it. So I put it in my shopping bag. Then I realised it was in the reduced section, So I looked on the back of it and it was £1 !!!!!!!!!!! YES ,  £1. Nothing more to say.
White Silver, £3 reduced to £1 B-b-b-bargain

So that's it! My little Primark Haul of 2013. I ended up buying 15 items all for a teeny price of £71.
I'm a very happy girl.

Introduction and other bits and bobs

Hello bloggers. My name is Florence Ella Bronwen Maskell, I am currently studying Music at The BRIT School.
Ever since I was young the only continuous interest was in fashion and beauty. I started wearing makeup when I was about 13 (which seems pretty dam young to me) and I taught myself the tricks of the trade through YouTube videos and pictures of celebs. Soon I got interested in more parts of beauty and that's when I discovered nail varnish!!!! Yes, I was a very late bloomer in terms of getting on the nail varnish hype, in fact I used to enjoy the 'naked nail' look, but now the sight of my nails without a colour on makes me feel slightly vommy. Anyway, when I started using nail varnish I got really interested in nail art, I found watching nail art tutorials on YouTube quite therapeutic in a weird non freakish way. So I started replicating those designs and ended up making my own ones! Every time I do one I post it on Facebook, but then I thought, why not make a blog and put it on here so that people who really enjoy nail art and fashion can have a look.
So yes, that's how I got to this point right now, I suppose it doesn't say much about me at all, but if you like this, then maybe (just maybe) I can delve a little deeper.
Thank you for reading this whole thing,(unless you've just skipped to the end and haven't read any of it, which in that case I'll be pretty peeved) and tell me if you like it.
